  1. 02 Feb 10 Carnaval

    The first Tuesday of every month: a fantastic night of music from Brazil and Puerto Rico playing a mix of samba, Brasilian house, batucada, forro, pagodge, samba reggae/axe and the new electronic sounds of baile funk, which is the new craze in Brazil. This is all complemented by reggaeton from Puerto Rico - a type of latin ragga mixed with hiphop with Brazilian DJs Silvao and Fabio Bahia.

    Alvin Purple may be unsigned but there's not a hint of dodgy DIY about their slickly produced rhythm and blues/trip hop/electronica. Laid back vocals over a fierce rhythm section, layered with ambient electronica and greenwood-esque guitars and armed with songs that never quite lose their pop hooks.

  12. 22 Feb 10 Yeasayer

    Following on from their critically acclaimed debut album, All Hour Cymbals, Yeasayer return with their second effort, Odd Blood which is scheduled for release on February 9th. Anyone who caught them at Nasty Fest when they stole the show will no doubt be excited to see them return to The Faversham having last toured the UK as special guests of Bat For Lashes, on whose album Yeasayer made an appearance.

    Debut Leeds appearance from man of the moment Joy Orbison who's been selected in the BBC Sounds of 2010 poll as one of the most promising acts to look forward to in 2010. His sound is a lovingly-crafted late-night evolution of house and UK garage, with soft bass, hypnotic home-made percussion and distant chopped-up vocals.
